VFW Programs

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is more than a gathering of those who have worn the uniform—it is a nationwide network dedicated to service, advocacy, and remembrance. Through our many programs, we work to support veterans and their families, engage with our communities, and ensure the sacrifices of our service members are never forgotten.

From providing direct assistance to veterans in need, to fostering patriotism in our nation’s youth, to honoring our fallen through commemorative ceremonies, each VFW program reflects our mission: to advocate for veterans, promote civic responsibility, and strengthen the bonds between those who serve and the communities they protect.

Whether you are a veteran seeking support, a student looking for scholarship opportunities, or a community member wishing to get involved, our programs offer a way for everyone to stand united in service and remembrance.

Community Service & Outreach

We proudly give back to our neighborhoods through volunteer projects, charity events, and partnerships that strengthen the bond between veterans and the communities we serve.

Youth & Education Programs

Through scholarships, essay contests, and educational outreach—such as the Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen programs—we inspire the next generation to embrace patriotism and civic responsibility.

Every year the VFW has a youth essay contest called Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy where students submit their essay to a local VFW Post, the winners are then forwarded to the District and then Department (State) before advancing to National. The theme for 2025-2026 is “How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?” and VFW Post 2375 is participating in the Scholar’s App to help streamline the application process. Paper applications and still accepted, please forward any questions or paper applications to our Post Adjutant/Quartermaster Apolonio “Apple” E. Muñoz III.

We also offer the following Youth Education Programs:
